Family Business Australia Conference

Two weeks ago I attended the national FBA conference in Queensland. Over the years I have attended many conferences both here and overseas and come away from the Family Buisness Australia conference with a renewed faith in the strength of family owned and operated business in Australia. It was a pleasure to meet and mix with such a large group who had one mission in mind,to share their knowledge and experiences.

There were some wonderful success stories shared from business of all sizes.

Hundred, and even thousands of business in Australia were started by baby boomers and many have reached a stage in their journey where they need to find suitable candidates to buy their business. For many the business is their superannuation.

This presents many interesting opportunities and/or potential problems. Where will the buyers come from and is the business is a fit state to be sold for maximum return?

If you are the owner or Family CEO of a sucessful business I suggest that you join Family Business Australia and start attending the many informative sessions they run every month.

Its always a delight to work with a family business who have been able to set in place the disciplines and processes needed to continue to operate on a professional basis for the next generations that address both the business and family needs.
